Triviology is the cure!
West-siders can get their quiz on tonight at Ella Street Social Club at 7, and East-siders have a choice between Jade Lounge at 7, or Hawthorne Hideaway at 8.
LOST: A Quiz The Island Demands was a super-fun lunar quiz! I especially enjoyed getting the whole bar to scream “WAAAAAAAALT!!!” in unison. I will soon post pictures of the sweet costumes people wore. For those of you that missed the quiz but wanted to be there, I’ve got several extra copies of the photo ID round which I’m happy to share with you. For those of you that played and did not win, ain’t no shame in it! There was a grueling three way tie for the win between The Hostiles, Walt’s Whispers (which included a graduate of Lost University), and ultimate champions Jacob Touched Hurley In A Taxi (one member of whom has the Lost numbers tattooed on his arm!). So clearly, the competition was fierce, and you all made it off The Island alive!
And in my next adventure, Triviology will finally breach NorthWest Portland! This very Sunday, June 27th, my newest trivia jockey, Jon, will launch weekly quizzery at Yur’s Bar & Grill at 8:00 – be there! This will bring my roster of weekly quizzes to a nice and Dirty Dozen (collect ’em all!). Some of you have met Jon; he co-hosted with me at Sewicklys last week, and the guy is a natural. And speaking of Sewickly’s, they now have a FaceBook page, so you can totally be their new best friend online, and see the pretty pictures they take of the quiz champions each week. And don’t forget that I, too, have a ShanRock FaceBook page, as well as a Triviology group.
I want to specially thank NorthWest Nursery Outlet for supplying beautiful tree samples for my Whammy rounds at Kenton Club and La Merde last week. This was a fun little round where everyone got to look at, touch, and smell cedar, Japanese Maple, juniper, gingko, spruce, etc. to identify them. NW Nursery Outlet is a family owned business, not to mention a trivia force to be reckoned with, in the form of Carpool Lane Prostitutes.
