I eagerly await my return to Portland, and to making the trivia for you all – come on out to East Burn tomorrow night if you’ve missed me, too! Thanks to all of my wonderful trivia jockeys for making my holiday possible. It was great to relax with cocktails and brothers, knowing that the Triviology was in good hands. Remember to wear the most awesome/awful Xmas sweater you can find (or make!) for a chance at glory and a cheap prize, this Sunday through Thursday. Deja vu! This picture of the 1990s quiz champs looks strikingly similar to last month’s photo of the Simpsons quiz victors – indeed, There’s No “I” In Meat has triumphed again! There was a very close second place tie, for which both teams also received prizes, but TN”I”IM is shaping up to be the team to beat at lunar quizzery!

There is no photo available for Cat Day, who won the 30ROCK quiz last week, but Margaret reported that there were Liz Lemon look-alikes a-plenty. Speaking of reports, I’d like to share with you an unsolicited review of Margaret’s debut at Ella Street Social Club. Shortly after the quiz ended, I received this text message from a long-time Triviology regular: “(Margaret) is fantastic! . . . She was seamless, clear, gave plenty of time for questions, and followed the format. Everything a trivia player wants in a TJ!” Thanks so much for sharing your thoughts, Lonnie! And folks, come to Da Clubyourself to see how Margaret stacks up, every Monday at 7:00. And if you’re familiar with the workings of Sterling Cooper, you definitely want to come out on January 4th, when Margaret will host Mad About Mad Men quizzery.

I will return to Portland this Sunday, December 20th, just in time to launch Bad Holiday Sweater week (which lasts through Dec. 23rd, as there is no trivia on Xmas Eve)! Wear your best (and by “best,” I mean “worst”) Xmas sweater, sweatshirt, sweater-vest, what-have-you, and the champion at each venue will be determined by applause. The winner will get a small prize of some sort, as well as a posting in the wall of shame, so do your worst! Behold some fascintating specimens from Sugartits, Bad Sweater champions of yore:

Remember that even though I’m out of town, the quizzery goes on as usual this week. There are already some young turks laying the groundwork for a dynasty at my newest venue, Hutch on Holgate, so I recommend getting out there and grabbing a piece of the pie yourself ($50 & $25 gift certificates to the highest scoring teams)!
