Corky Smells The Glove Tonight!

Tonight’s the night (July 11th) to let your inner folkie/dog-lover/Taphead/community-theatre-performer out! Join me at Peter’s 19th Hole at 7:00 for Corky Smells The Glove: The Mockumentaries of Christopher Guest! This quiz will honor the lives, the loves, the music and the hilarity of the characters created by Guest and his crew. Prizes will include gift certificates to the bar, some silly and fun prizes, and a majestic trophy which will delight your senses. And don’t forget – costumes rule!

Also, you have another chance to double up on your prizes at Ella Street Social Club this Monday. The champions of this 6:00 quiz will get some fun mystery prizes . . . AND Montage brunch gift certificates. You know, if you’re currently unemployed, playing Triviology is a good way to get you out of the house, keep your mind sharp, and bring home the bacon. In fact, why not put “Perennial Trivia Champion” on your resume?! Success in both Triviology and employment requires breadth of knowledge, teamwork, and good sportsmanship. I might even let you use me as a reference.

Brunch Is On Me!

I hope you had a great 4th, kids – I sure did! And in the fine American tradition of offering free stuff to lure you to places I want you to go, Kyle will once again hand out Montage brunch gift certificates as extra prizes at a couple of his venues this week, Ella Street Social Club (Monday @ 6:00), and Kenton Club (Thursday @ 9:00).

This Saturday (July 11th) brings a special event I’ve really been looking forward to: Corky Smells The Glove! It’s time for your arcane knowledge of Spinal Tap, Waiting for Guffman, Best in Show and A Mighty Wind to pay off big! I’ll have prizes for at least a couple of teams, one of which is an Aerosmith-related trophy (you’ll just have to wait and see!). Costumes are strongly encouraged! I’ll see you at 7:00 at Peter’s 19th Hole!

I have just a few ShanRock’s Triviology shirts left, folks – get ’em while you can! Haven’t won at Triviology yet? Just buy a set of these for your team and TELL everybody you won them – I’ll back you up! They are only $13 each, and they’re super-soft pre-shrunk American Apparel sweethearts. I’ve got them in different sizes (both male and female), and they feature my beautiful leprekey:
