First order of business, folks – the date of the Queers vs. Breeders Trivia Showdown has been changed to Saturday, April 18th. Our “So Gay” trivia jockey Michelle is taking care of some family during the weekend we had originally planned, so now we have seven more days to make this event that much more fabulous! Showtime is still at 6:00 at The Spare Room. This will be a free event, but we will happily accept tips (remember that tipping is a fabulous thing to do).

Last week’s 80s trivia night was so much fun – I loved seeing everyone so excited about shoulder pads, Judy Blume, and The Clapper, and wearing their awesome 80s outfits. In fact, I have so many great pictures, that I’m going to make a whole page for them on my website, so check back on shanrockstrivia.com. In the meantime, here are a couple of teasers . . . first of all, here is a partial 45 I displayed in the record jacket picture ID round (one point for naming the song, and one point for naming the artist):

In addition to the standard prizes handed out each week at East Burn, the night’s champions won Adventureland soundtrack CDs and T-shirts . . . and I have a left-over! Therefore, I’m going to make a whole bonus prize night at Peter’s this Wednesday. In addition to bar credit, the champs at Peter’s will win a set of Coca-Cola glasses (you know, those thick, green contoured ones) and the afore-mentioned small Adventureland T-shirt (peach colored shirts in the “There’s No ‘I’ In ‘Meat'” team photo below).

Your excellent Peter’s bartender, Jackie, is going to be moving soon (but NOT out of Portland, thank goodness), and is thusly selling her fish tanks. She’s got three beautiful 20 gallon tanks, all fully decked out with natural live plants and decorations, and lots of healthy pufferfish. Each tank is only $100 each, which includes absolutely everything (filtration system, thermostat, lights, etc.)! She’s also got a 40 gallon tank for $350, if you’re feeling more adventuresome. Oh, and somebody left a green scarf in the “trivia room” at Sewickly’s on Tuesday – let me know if it’s yours.
