Blood Sucking Quizzery Tonight!

From Bela to Buffy, from Stoker to Sookie, and from Polidori to The Coreys . . . tonight’s the night you’ve been waiting for, suckers! All things vampirish are fair game at tonight’s Triviology at East Burn (6:00 @ 1800 E. Burnside). I will be your guide, as I challenge your knowledge of the films, literature, history, TV, etc. of blood suckers. If you are still thirsty for something bloody on November 6th, come to the Breakfast of Champions at The Slammer! Every Saturday at 2, we compliment the quizzery with biscuits and gravy and a bloody mary bar. But this weekend, we’ve got something extra special planned, to get you out of the house to play in the daytime! I will bring in extra prizes, but perhaps more importantly, your first bloody mary will cost you $4.00 . . . and your second will cost you one red cent! Whenever you see a penny this week, remember that fun & quizzery await you . . . don’t miss it! Also, please note that I’ve added some hot fresh new venues, with debuts coming soon . . .

Brains Drained!

They came, they drank, they quizzed . . . all who rode the 2010 BarFly Brain Drain Trivia Bus are champions!! Especially this late night crew pictured below . . . after a sold out bus, wherein every single team lasted until the last quiz bar, these are the hearty few that survived that final late night crossing of the river to a late night dance party at Matador:

These are some of the things I love about this picture: #1) We’ll start with the obvious – Viking helmets!; #2) the quiz is over, yet the shit-talking clearly persists; #3) the bad kids are still sitting in the back, but yelling to communicate with us nerds at the front; #4) not one, but at least two, and possibly three people are laughing so hard that they are crying! We’ll do it all over again next year! Honorable mention goes to Creme De La Merde, who hung on tight throughout a grueling tiebreaker on the sidewalk of Burnside (ain’t they cute?) . . .

. . . yet there can only be one: our 2010 BarFly Bus victors are Linda Is A Whore!

Sorry to end on a sad note, but tonight is the final night of Triviology at Jade Lounge. Come on out and play with me at 7:00 – claim the final Jade prize! And fear not – I know that change can be scary, but big and wonderful things are in the future for ShanRock’s Triviology . . . stay tuned for some sweet new venues and such!
