Arrested Development Quiz Saturday – Motherboys Welcome!
Saturday, May 2nd, 2009Don’t be an MRF – come do the time of your life at Franklin Comes Alive, the “Arrested Development” lunar quiz this Saturday (May 2nd) at Peter’s 19th Hole; showtime at 7:00! I want to showcase my newest trivia jockey in the funnest way possible, so Kyle will be your host at this event (which means that I get to play!). Although this quiz will not maintain a standard ShanRock’s Triviology format, Kyle has indeed prepared a mystery physical challenge for us which he is quite proud of. What could it be . . . Segueway racing? Juicebox chugging? Withstanding Buster-style back massages? Anyway, as always, team size is limited to 5, and the champions win gift certificates to Peter’s. If for some reason you hate fun, and therefore will remain at home on Saturday, tune in to KBOO to listen to Trivia Jock Scott! From 6 – 8, he will participate in their “Dead-a-thon” membership drive and talk about his group, the Garcia Birthday Band.
Another forthcoming special event I’m involved with is a Cystic Fibrosis fundraiser organized by LGA Creative. The fundraiser will take place in the form of quizzery hosted by yours truly, this Tuesday, 7:30 at La Merde (meanwhile, Kyle will host my regular trivia night at Sewickly’s). This will not be a standard night of Triviology, but I’ll still employ a fun, unique format, including Wheel of Fortune, Word Scramble, and Spelling Bee-type rounds (some knowledge of CF will be useful to teams). It will cost $5 per person to play and compete for prizes; all of this money goes directly to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. And, since it is Cinco de Mayo, La Merde will cook up some margarita specials for you!
Congratulations to Willocalypse; on Monday, they earned the distinction of being the inaugural champions at Ella Street Social Club! I must say, this was one of the funnest debut quizzes I’ve ever had (in small part because I got to sit back and watch Kyle do all the work) – come on down for happy hour ($1 PBR + $2.50 wells!) every Monday at 6. As extra incentive to check out this new venue, “Da Club” will continually offer second place prizes (pictured below is the 2nd place team, admiring their runner-up trophy). The extra-beauty part of this happy hour quiz is that you can play a double-header; when Kyle wraps up at Da Club, jet on over to my 8:00 quiz at HawHide for another game, hosted by me (with fresh questions, of course)!
