Hi, folks! Now seems to be a great time to rack up some wins to qualify for February’s Clash of the Trivia Titans – it’s been kinda slowish cuz of the holidays and whatnot. Of course, everybody is welcome to participate in my annual trivia tournament, but the more your team wins over the course of the year, the more likely you are to qualify for the bigger, radder prizes and trophies! Probably the most sparsely attended Triviology venues these days (and therefore, the ones wherein you are most likely to win!) are Tuesdays at Sewickly’s and Thursdays at Kenton Club. Every single win this “trivia season” is posted in my Hall of Fame, so you can tally them up (the wins at retired venues such as Albina Green definitely still count, they’re just listed at the bottom, since they’re now closed). I’ll send out more details about the Clash of the Trivia Titans soon, or you can certainly ask me about it at any pub quiz as well.

Next week, you can do a double-shot of Scott! He will be your awesome substitute TJ this Tuesday at Sewickly’s (meanwhile, I’ll be hosting a holiday party for the good people at Dove Lewis), in addition to his regular Triviology gig at The Hutch. By the way, he will also be hosting trivia at The Hutch on Xmas Eve (Peter’s will be closed)! So if you don’t have plans that night, come gather around the warm, roasty glow of booze and a sense of superior intelligence. And be sure to give Trivia Jock Scott some fat tips, cuz he’s working on Christmas!

Hey, all you paparazzi out there – I’d love to see those pictures you’ve been taking at trivia nights, and even post them, if you’ll allow it. I’m sure that many of those photos would make excellent additions to your team pages – in fact, any type of team artwork or statement would be a great way to show off the wonders of your crew! Hi, folks! I hope you are enjoying a lovely day off – I know I am! My Thursday night venues are closed today, so you’ll have to settle for reading Trivial Pursuit cards over Thanksgiving dinner for your quizzery fix tonight. For Christmas, however, the good people of The Hutch believe that Portlanders need a place to get their drink on, and that the show must go on! In other words, Triviology at The Hutch will rock forth as usual on X-mas Eve, as it falls on Wednesday’s usual trivia night. Meanwhile, over the next month, keep those eyes peeled for terrible holiday sweaters – once again I will host a little contest at several venues to see who finds the most magnificently hideous garments in the land.

Thanks so much to those of you who came to Ladd’s Inn for my Sunday debut – I think it might have been my most successful premier yet! The house was packed, everybody in the bar played, and three mighty teams were rewarded for their efforts. Come check it out for yourself this Sunday – and, by the way, feel free to “double dip” (The Sweater Capes coined this phrase), as I will always have fresh questions for both East Burn at 6:00 and Ladd’s Inn at 9:00.
