More Trivia To Love

We’ve been having such a great time at The Hutch (on Glisan), that the owners have asked me to double the fun by expanding the quizzery to The Hutch on Holgate as well! And since they can’t stand to go one more week without Triviology, the debut quiz will be held THIS Wednesday (Sep. 23) at 8:00! Though our beloved Margaret will be your host for the premier, I am thrilled to have scored Michele, who recently retired her That’s So Gay Trivia Night, as our regular trivia jockey at this venue – she is nothing if not hilarious (though she’s also smart, creative, and adventuresome . . . just so you know). Each week, the 1st place team will be awarded a $50 gift certificate to the bar, and 2nd place will receive $25. By the way, their sister venue, The Hutch, will begin splitting the mighty $100 prize on Wednesdays as well – $75 for the champs, and $25 for the runners-up.

Go Mobile With Me!

For champion team Neo Maxi Zoom Dweebie (Duckie & Iona, pictured below), their knowledge of John Hughes trivia was matched by the excellence of their costumes at my recent lunar quiz night. Special appearances by Bender, Sam Baker, and The Basket Case.

Change is afoot at Triviology this week, folks. First of all, though tonight’s (9/13) weekly quiz at East Burn will proceed at 6:00, Margaret will be your lovely hostess for the night. But alas to those of you who have been double-dipping by following me to Ladd’s Inn for a second quiz on Sundays – you’ll just have to settle for one dose of trivia, as Ladd’s is cancelled for the night. Also, Kyle will helm myPeter’s quiz this Wednesday. And finally, this week will be the last night that the Wxyz quiz will be held on a Tuesday; on Sunday, September 27th, the new weekly night will premiere, still with Kyle, each week at 8:30.

Are you tired of ruling the trivial roost only at my Triviology venues? Do you feel the need to spread your team’s intimidating trivial prowess across the land? Then here’s your chance to take it to the streets . . . you are cordially invited to join me for a couple of mobile Triviology adventures. This Saturday is the FirstBook trivia bus, which is like a junior varsity version of the Barfly Trivia Bus (which will be held on October 10th). FirstBook is a non-profit organization which provides books to kids; Barfly is an organization which provides booze to adults. I’ll host a round of trivia at each bar stop on each bus – The FirstBook bus will start at The Low Brow Lounge and hit four pubs, and and the Barfly bus will start at a top secret location and proceed to an unspecified number of Portland funnest watering holes. I recommend that you do the FirstBook as a warmup adventure, then ride the legendary Barfly bus for a chance to win $100 cash for your team of four. Let’s ride!
